Field Trip: Homestead Hero - Thursday May 26
Is your child attending a field trip? Purchase in advance here!
On Thursday, May 26, we'll see if we have what it takes to homestead in Jackson Hole! Through a series of challenges, we'll learn who homesteaders were and what obstacles they faced in settling this land. Can we fit everything we own into our wagon? Will we finish our log cabins before winter? And who is going to do all of the chores? Students will have to complete the challenge and "prove up" to take the title of Homestead Hero!
This field trip is designed to teach Wyoming Social Studies Content Standard SS2.2.1 in which students learn the ways groups meet human needs and concerns and contribute to personal identity and daily life.
The field trip will run from 9:00-10:15 AM and is designed for students in grades K-4 but older students are welcome to join! If the weather is nice, we will do some activities on the porch so please dress accordingly.
Masks are no longer required for field trip participants.
Drop off and pickup will be from the front doors of our 225 N Cache St Location. Parents are also welcome to stick around and chaperone. Any additional questions, please contact maria@jacksonholehistory.org
